"Sir Colin, who succeeded as third Laird [of Glenorchy], at the age of forty five years, married Marjory, daughter of John Stewart, Earl of Atholl. ***
"It is recorded of Sir Colin by the family chronicler that 'he kepit bayth conques and takis left to him. And was ane great justiciare all his tyme.' Assured that the Campbells of Glenorchy had obtained a firm foothold in Breadalbane ... Sir Colin erected a burial chapel at Finlarig 'to be ane burial for himself and his posteritie.' The present mausoleum of the Breadalbane famly is on the site of Sir Colin's chapel. He died on the 26th [of] July 1524 [sic], and was buried at Finlarig, in his own chapel of the Blessed Virgin. He left three sons, Duncan, John, and Colin, each of whom was destined to be Laird of Glenorchy."
