New Jersey, USA
|Death: ||Sep. 9, 1869|
John was definitely born in New Jersey -- probably near Trenton or Allentown. He may have died in Indiana while visiting a child.
Do you know of a direct-line male descendant of this Bower/Bowers line who would be willing to provide a DNA sample for genealogical purposes? Please email email@example.com
Follow the link below to the memorial for John's son Charles C., to read the latter's bio sketch from a Clinton County history -- including clues about John and John's ancestors.
This memorial page has links to memorial pages for 6 of John and Sarah's children. Not listed are John (for whom no dates or places are known) and Sarah (born abt 1833 in NJ, and with parents in 1850 census in Greene Twp, Clinton Co, OH, but nothing more known). Also, a son James (1815-1832) is believed to have died while the family was still in New Jersey (mentioned on note written by Harry E. Wright).
The following death record has a slightly wrong date of death and a slightly wrong date of birth, and we don't know why "our" John would have been in Ross Co, OH (unless he had a child there and was visiting, as the story went). But could this be the death record of "our" John Bowers?
