Birth: 1832
Madison County
New York, USA
Death: May 8, 1910
Madison County
New York, USA

Andrew Farrington was listed in censuses (1860, 1870, NYS census of 1875, 1880) as a canal boatman. The obituary of his son Charles says Andrew owned "a fleet of canal barges." Andrew's own obituary appeared in the May 13, 1910, issue of The Oneida Dispatch, Oneida, N.Y.: "Andrew A. Farrington, a member of the Oneida Independent Cavalry during the Civil War, died at his home near Wampsville on Sunday, age 78. He leaves four children, John and Charles Farrington, Mrs. Seymour Jackson and Mrs. George Chrisman, all of Canastota. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the Wampsville church." [Note the middle initial A in the obituary, whereas the tombstone has a middle initial V. Neither middle initial shows up in other records. The name Chrisman appears elsewhere as Christman.]

Andrew was the son of Jacob Farrington (born in NY abt 1795; last known in 1860 census in Walworth Co, WI; burial unknown) and Eve/Eva Clute Farrington (born in NY in 1791; died in 1832, probably in Onondaga Co, NY; burial unknown). Andrew's paternal grandfather was Isaac Clute (1756-c.1832), Revolutionary War soldier from Schenectady buried in Town of Camillus, Onondaga Co, NY.

Two of Andrew's sisters were Wealtha/Wealthy Farrington Worden Van Dusen (1818-1896) and Phoebe Adalade Farrington Edson (1827-1911).

Andrew's son John is the only surviving child not linked below. Is he the same as John J Farrington, born 11 Dec 1860 in New York, died 28 Apr 1943, Santa Clara Co, CA (listed in California Death Index)?
