Cora Harrington Wike, 95, of Route 5, Taylorsville died August 1, 1992, at The Alexander County Hospital.
Born January 4, 1897, in Alexander County, she was a daughter of the late Coburn Harrington and Elizabeth Reid Harrington. She was a homemaker and a member of Salem Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Roby Wike; by one daughter, Mrs. Helen Reese; and by four sons, Floyd, Everette, Gayton, and Waitsel Wike.
Survivors include three sons, Travis Wike and Wendell Wike, both of Taylorsville, and Lewis Wike of Hampton, Virginia; five daughters, Miss Cloyce Wike, Mrs. Delmas (Myrtle) Kerley, Mrs. Frances Pennell, Mrs. Betty Benfield, and Mrs. Gladys Echerd, all of Taylorsville; one sister, Delia Ann Tevepaugh of Taylorsville; 26 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 3, at 3 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church with Rev. James Banach officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
