Delvin received the American Legion Award as a high school senior. He graduated from St. Louis High in 1950 and attended Durham Business School. As an active life long member of St. Louis Church, he served as Eucharistic Minister for several years. In 2001 he was honored as a 50 yr. member of St. Louis Society. He was a past board member of Bexar County ASCS, part owner and operator of Bippert Seed and Supply and a School Bus Driver for Medina Valley I.S.D.
Survivors include his wife Evangeline "Sissy" Kempf Bippert of San Antonio; children and their spouses, Gwendolyn and Mike Taylor, Charmaine and Robert Youngman all of Castroville, Mary and Jesse Uresti of Von Ormy, Melissa and Michael Kwapich, Rita and Michael Copp all of Castroville and Darryl and Nan Bippert of San Antonio; grandchildren, Christy and Trent Wilson, Mindy Taylor and Todd Hermes, Michael Taylor and Bridget Holley, Timothy Jeffers and Christina McMackin, Cheyanne Youngman, Naomi Uresti, Katy Uresti, Patrick Uresti, Rebecca Kwapich, Thaddeus Kwapich, Lance Ladwig, Lauren Ladwig, April Copp, Annalisa McKenzie, Amber Bippert; great grandchild, Amy Wilson; brother, Clyde Bippert and his wife Joyce; sisters, Dorothy Sachs, Arlene Schraeder and her husband Al; sister-in-law, Ann Bippert all of San Antonio; numerous nieces and nephews.
The Rosary will be recited Friday, Sept. 15, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. Entombment will follow the Rosary at St. Louis Garden Mausoleum, Castroville, TX.
