Aliene Blocker, age 92, left us to be with the Lord on November 19, 2013. She was born on November 11, 1921 in Sabinal, Texas to Ed Santleben and Opal Lockhart.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Blocker, Sr.; and sons, Bill Blocker, Jr. and Bobby Blocker. She is survived by her children: Mary Cover (Rick), John Blocker (Kathy), Bogie Blocker (Helen), Betty Thompson, and June Whitney (Carter) and lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Raised on a ranch in Sabinal, she met and then married Bill Blocker in 1939. They had seven children. When Bill died in 1961, she was left alone to raise her children. She was always supportive of all their school activities. She worked at Highland Hills Pharmacy for over 25 years. Most will remember her warm smile, stylish dress, sweet demeanor, and friendly greeting as she welcomed the customers.

Aliene loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The holidays were a special time, especially Christmas and Easter, when all her family came home together in her home. She also loved to baby sit many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was selfless, very thoughtful of others, and always wanted everyone around her to be happy.

Aliene loved to travel with her family. She loved John Wayne, the Spurs, NASCAR races, and George Strait. She was an excellent seamstress and made all the children's clothes including designer gowns she saw in fashion magazines.

Aliene touched so many people during her lifetime. She showed love, kindness, and charity to everyone. To have known her is to know love.

The family wishes to thank the Regency Manor Nursing Care and Hospice in Floresville for their care during the final days of her life.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 24th from 6-9pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapel South. The rosary will be held from 7:00-7:30pm at Mission Park South. The Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25th at 11:00am at the main chapel with the burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2.
