Mrs. W. Arthur Bailly 1975

Mrs. W. Arthur Bailly died Wednesday, June 11, in the Victoria General Hospital.

Born August 29, 1901, in Lower L'Ardoise, Cape Breton, she was the former Mary Jane Sampson, daughter of the late Patrick E. and Mary Jane (Gracie)Sampson.
She came to Lunenburg as a telegrapher with Western Union, previously working in Moncton and Summerside. Known to her many friends as Sammy, she was a member of St. Norbert's Church, Fishermen's Memorial Hospital Ladies
Auxiliary, and Lunenburg Ladies Curling Club.
Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Claire, Mrs. David Creaser; a son, Graham; grand children, Gail, Alan, Ian, and Jamie Creaser; Anne, Kris, and Gregory Bailly; five sisters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Frank Briand), Mamie Sampson of Halifax; Annabell (Mrs. R. Finnican), Batavia, N.Y.; Theresa (Mrs. E. Cotie). Grand Greve, Cape Breton; Rachel (Mrs. B. MacLellan), New
Glasgow; and three brothers, Albert, Windsor, Ontario; John, St.Peter's, Richard, Lower L'Ardoise.
She was predeceased by five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral mass ws held Friday at St. Norbert's Church, Rev. John Hayes officiating. Pallbearers were Dougald Burke, Lawrence Crouse, John Kinley,
and George Black.
Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.
