Private Harmon H. Proffitt, Company C, 37th KY Infantry died on March 10, 1864 of measles in a hospital at Glasgow, KY and was buried in the Tompkinsville National Cemetery in Tompkinsville, KY (now known as the Old Soldiers Cemetery).


Harmon was the seventeen year old son of G. W. and Margaret Proffitt.

He was one of the local soldiers who was not moved to the Nashville National Cemetery in 1867.
