Philip C. Stoddard died @ his home. He was a medical detailist for several pharmaceutical companies.
Born in Lowell Mass, on June 28, 1917, he was the son of Russel B. and Anne Louise Sime Stoddard. He graduated from Glen Ridge, NJ High School and received a bachelor's degree from New York University.
In 1943, he married Edna Verdoodt in Jamaica New York.
Mr. Stoddard starred in sales at Fisher Scientific in New York City where he became Vice President. He then became associated with Crown Industrial Supply of Hoboken, NJ.
He moved to Brunswick, Maine in 1977 to manage Fredrick Haer Company.
Mr. Stoddard was a member of the First Parish Church where he served on the music committee and the Bowdin ministry.
He was active in the Brunswick Republican Town Committee and was a member of the Brunswick Area Chamber of Commerece. He was a Hospice volunteer and served on the board of directors.
He was a long time summer resident of the Isle of Springs.
Besides his wife of Brunswick, he is survived by a son, David B. (Tracey) Stoddard of Manchester, NH; a daughter, Linda (Tony) Harper of Cheltenham, England; a brother, John R.B.Stoddard of New Bern, NC;three grand-daughters Keenyn, Meghann and Shealyn Stoddard all of Manchester, NH; and several nieces and nephews.
A service was held on July 3, 1990 at 2 p.m. at the First Parish Church, with the Rev. Dr. William C. Imes officiating.
Arrangements by the Brackett Funeral Home in Brunswick.
Philip was cremated and his ashes were scattered into the Mouth of the Sheepscot River off Jones' point on the Isle of Springs, where a stone bench was erected in his memory.
