Myrtle M. Love was born in Valley Mills, Texas to Benjamin Jehu and Verda Elizabeth (Thomas) Evans. She graduated with honors from Salado High School as Valedictorian in 1934 and attended Southwest Texas State University, obtaining a BA and M.Ed. degree. On January 24, 1942, she and Harold Love were married in Yuma, Arizona. They lived in San Diego, California 3-1/2 years. While there, she was a member of the Junior Women's Club of San Diego. One daughter was born to this union. Myrtle was a school teacher in Goodville, Bartlett and Lexington. In Rockdale she taught first grade in the same classroom for 29 years, retiring on May 31, 1982. She was a former owner of Love's Flower and Gift Shop in Rockdale from 1975 to 1989. She was a member of First Baptist Church, member at large of the Daughters of the American Revolution, member of Delta Kappa Gamma and a life member of the Crippled Childrens Camp of Kerrville. Myrtle passed away on a Monday morning in the Cameron Nursing Center in Cameron, reaching the age of 95. Graveside services were held at Bellwood Memorial Cemetery in Temple. Rev.
