Oliver Hazard Perry Addleman may have been one of the first Addlemans from Clearfield Co., PA, to go to Virginia.

Perry was described as having been captured at Chancellorsville, VA, May 3, 1863; confined at Richmond, paroled at City Point, VA, May 14, 1863. He reported to Camp Parole, MD, May 16, 1863 and sent to convalescent Camp, Va, May 20 1863. Enrolled as Perry Addleman, Company K, 84th Regiment, PA Volunteers.
Other military records show he originally enrolled 23 Jul 1862, age 20 mustered in on 16 Aug 1862, and discharged on 31 May 1865.

"PERRY" ADDLEMAN, well known in Lawrence township, Centre, Clearfield county, where he was born, and where he lived the early part of his life, died at his home in Buckingham county, VA, Oct 23, 1900, at the age of 59 years. It is now 30 years since he moved to his Southern home. He was a member of Capt. Matthew Ogden's Company of the 84th Reg. Pa. Inf. Vol. and served his full time. He was a brave and dutiful soldier at all times. Perry Addleman was a brother of Mrs. THOMAS McPHERSON of Lawrence township and Mrs. MAUD TOZER, of LaJose, Pa. He was a good citizen and leaves a widow and six children to mourn the death of a loving and considerate husband and father.
