Mrs. Myron (Margaret E.) Evans 71, Oyens, died Wednesday [March 28, 1984] at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, Sioux City, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Oyens, with Rev. Thomas Topf officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.
Christian Mothers rosary will be at 3 p.m. and parish rosary at 8 p.m. Friday at the Fisch Funeral Home.
Margaret E. Masuen was born Nov. 17, 1912, in Le Mars to Clem and Catherine Swain Masuen. She was reared in the Le Mars, Oyens, and Alton areas and at Pipestone, Minn.
Following her marriage Jan. 9, 1934, to Myron Eyans at Pipestone, the couple farmed in the Pipestone area until 1944. They moved to rural Oyens, where they farmed until 1958, when they moved to Oyens.
Mrs. Evans was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, church guild, and Christian Mothers.
Survivors are her husband, Myron, Oyens; two sons, William and Donald, both of Oyens; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Carolyn) Rael, Ossian, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; a brother, Vincent Masuen, Le Mars; and three sisters, Mrs. Roy (Celesta) Smith, Sioux City, and Mrs. Arnold (Catherine) Evans and Mrs. Joe (Marie) Heuertz, both of Remsen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Eugene; and two sisters, Zita and Bernice Masuen.
