DEATH OF CAPT. ALEX. GRANT
Capt. Alex. Grant, aged 76 years, died at 4:40 a.m. today at his home, 21 West Chase street of pneumonia after a short illness. His death was sudden, but not unexpected.
Capt. Grand lived in Pensacola for the past 30 years, and had been identified with some of the city's leading interests. During his lifetime he held positions with the county board of health, county school board, and was connected in many other ways with the city interests. His well-known popularity was known throughout the state and everybody knew of him.
Deceased leaves three sons, Messrs. J.J., Jack, and Charles Grant; three daughters, Mrs. M. H. Sullivan, Mrs. A. M. Avery and Mrs. W. H. Pleasants, wife of the general traffic manager of the Seaboard Air Line, with headquarters in New York. He was a native of Louisiana.
The funeral will be held from the residence at 3:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon and will be conducted under the auspices of the Escambia Lodge F. & A. M. The interment will be made in St. Michael's cemetery and friends are invited to attend.
