Mr. Flaherty was a member of Okolona Christian Church, a retired police detective for the old Jefferson County Police Department and a member of F.O.P. Lodge #614.
Among those who preceded him in death include; his parents; and a son, Chris Earl Flaherty.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Frances Patton Flaherty; sons, Curtis (Rita), Randy (Lisa) and Robert Flaherty (DeeAnn); sisters, Linda Wright, Vanessa Miller and Sandra Whitenack; brothers, Larry Flaherty and Scott Risinger; grandchildren, Sarah, Morgan, Emily, Ryan, Katherine, Evelyn and Declan; a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at noon on Friday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Road), with interment in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may pay their respects from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday at Schoppenhorst.
