Per obituary from the Primitive Baptist Church: Elizabeth Sims was born 29 June 1805 near Lexington KY. Her parents died when she was young; she and her twin brother, Austin, were raised by Elder Thomas Ray and moved at an early age to Madison Co., IL, where she married Maurice Armstrong on 3 Jan. 1822. The couple lived for years in Greene and Jersey Counties before moving to Montgomery Cnty. and, finally, to Macoupin Cnty. IL. Betty died 25 Nov. 1880 and was buried 26 Nov. in Girard Cemetery.

Children: Ahola, James Milton, Evaline, Mary Adeline, William, Thomas, Andrew Stice, Affa Jane, Christopher Columbus, Benjamin Franklin, Leonard Maurice Armstrong.
