Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Reidlawn Cemetery .
A Rockingham County native, he was a retired automoblie dealer and a member of First Congregational Church.
Surviving are wife, Mrs. Mamie Powell; daughter, Mrs. Lee Garrett of Charlotte; brothers, Forrest Powell, Elmer Powell, Hubert Powell, all of Eden, Marvin Powell of Ruffin, Dillard Powell of Ruffin; sisters, Mrs. Edna Gillie, Mrs. Pauline Cross, both of Ruffin; two grandchildren.
