Carter Parker died in Coosa county. His grave is one of those marked unknown that were removed from the Parker Cemtery to create Lake Martin. It is called Parker New Harmony Cemetery. The Parker families in Coosa County were all related to each other and buried in the Parker cemetery. The Parker family has a long history of marking the graves of their families and very few of the headstones were placed on the new grave location.

Carter Parker born in SC married Charity Dial they removed to Ga. where most of their children were born prior to moving to Coosa Co., Al. Carter served in the WBTS for the CSA at the Talladega Camp of Instruction. This family was closely tied to the Castleberry family of Coosa, Co. Carter's and Charity's daughter Elizabeth Parker married Lacy B. Castleberry and their son Martin Parker married the sister of Lacy B. Castleberry, Mary Ann Castleberry in Coosa Co.

To my GGGGreat Granddad, I hope one day we will be able to meet along with all the Parkers I have yet to seen when the wind is calm and the sun is high on that Alabama land.

Carter Parker son of Thomas and Frankey Parker of Laurens County SC is my 3rd great grandfather. I am sure this time of the year he was turkey hunting a tradition.
