George was born to William and Betty Hill Holloway in Tullahoma, Tennessee. He was one of nine children, three sisters Lillie, Julia and Patricia and five brothers, William, John, Allen, Robert and Hill Holloway. He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and five brothers.
Rudy is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Jacqueline, five children, Lynda Crittendon of Cincinnati, Ohio, George Rudolph Holloway Jr. and Michelle Holloway of Oak Ridge, Yvette Holloway King of San Diego, California and Ingrid "Julie" Fletcher of Nashville, Tennessee, six grandchildren his favorite Zane Rudolph Holloway. Candace, Nicolas Fletcher, George Ward, George (Ashley) Holloway III, Justin Rudolph Crittendon, two great grandchildren, Javoun and Nashoun Crittendon, two nieces, Sherry and Alisha Plummer. Five nephews, Craig and Brian Doaks, Donnell Thomas, Robert and Michael Plummer and his son-in-law John King.
He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He had been a resident of Oak Ridge since 1948, attending Spurgeon Chapel AME Zion Church as long as his health allowed. After more than thirty seven years of dedicated service, he retired from the Biology Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory. During his tenure there, he was a member of the Service Employee International Union and the Central Labor Council, serving in various official capacities. He was also employed for many years at the Oak Ridge Country Club and the BPOE Lodge #1684.
This memorial is dedicated to my dearest friend, my sister (Yvette) Cheryl Holloway King for her daddy.
