Posthumously awarded the Purple Heart. Son of Emil and Augusta Kuonen. He was on the USS Jarvis (DD393) when it was sunk. The cemetery listed is the location of his cenotaph. Alvin's body was never found, therefore his family has never had a memorial service. Alvin's memorial cenotaph was placed during Memorial Day weekend 2006. The family had a service for him finally Alvin was my great uncle.
