Davida Bernadine Gleason was born on 12 December 1915, on a farm that was four miles southeast of Council Grove, Kansas. Her parents were David Albert and Mary Nira Wood Gleason.

In 1938, she met Stephen Francis Driscoll while he was attending the local Civilian Conservation Corps' camp, and they began to date. On 25 June 1939, they married in Council Grove.

In 1944, Francis entered the United States Army's Air Corps and learned to fly. During his deployment in the war's European theater, Davida lived in South Dakota.

After the war, Francis joined the Air Force Reserve, so he and Davida moved to Wichita, Kansas. Being an accountant, he obtained a job with the Veteran's Administration's local office and was assigned to its home-loan department. She went to work for the Wolf's Brothers' clothing store.

Davida later changed employers and began to work for an upscale women's clothing store, Lewin's. She remained there until it closed, in the late 1980s or early 1990s.

She then was in her seventies, but she loved helping Wichita's fashion-conscious women select clothing that complemented them and wished to continue doing so. Given her impressive client list—which included Olive Ann Beech, who had taken over the Beech Aircraft Corporation after its founder and her husband, Walter, died—she had little trouble finding similar employment.

She continued to work part-time in other Wichita women's clothing stores until the late-1990s.

On July 1996, Francis Driscoll died at an eldercare facility, in Haysville, Kansas. He was buried in a crypt at Wichita's Cavalry Cemetery.

On 21 January 2009, Davida died at a Wichita nursing home. Her remains then joined those of her husband.

The Driscoll's had no children.
