Dorothy Jane McKinney Stewart
(August 11, 1920 - July 4, 2007)

Dorothy, was the 17 year old Birthmother to my Grandmother, Carole Ann Clayton Daugherty who was born on May 25, 1938. Dorothy could not provide for my Grandmother, and she was adopted at two months old by TB and Mamye Clayton from the Bethany Children's Home.

Dorothy, was born on August 11, 1920 in Shelby County, Tennessee to Robert McKinney, Sr and Annie Parrish McKinney, and she was the little sister of Robert McKinney, Jr.

My Grandmother's Father was named; William Henry Habour and he was born in 1907. She also had a half sister named; Betty Jane Habour.

Dorothy, passed away at the age of 86 years old in Parsons, Tennessee on July 4, 2007 at the Decatur County General Hospital. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Clyde Bast and Glenn Stewart. She was a homemaker and a member of Southside Missionary Baptist Church.

Obit for Dorothy:
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Jane McKinney Stewart, Age 86 years, of Parson Tennessee were conducted on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 4:00 P.M. in the sanctuary of the Southside Baptist Church with Bro. Glen "Peanut" Scott officiating. Interment followed in the Southside Church Cemetery. Oakdale Funeral Home-Decatur County was in charge of services.

She is survived by one brother, Robert McKinney and wife Carolyn of Parsons, one daughter: Carole Clayton Daugherty, one granddaughter: Pamela Fitzhugh, two great granddaughters: Caroline and Cayla Fitzhugh, one nephew Scott McKinney and wife Sandi of Parsons, one niece Connie Bethshares and husband David of Parsons. Other survivors include three great nieces Kara McKinney, Whitney Ivey and Ashley Ivey all of Parsons and a long time caregiver Carolyn Mays and husband Mickey of Parsons.

She was preceded in death by two husbands Clyde Bast and Glenn Stewart.

Serving as pallbearers: Russell Dickson, Kenneth Dickson, Brent Dickson, Janes Young, Jerry Tyler, David Bethshares. Honorary pallbearers: Ryan Dickson, Edward Dickson.

Relationship to Contributor: Grandmother's Biological Mother.
