William Paul Harkleroad, age 74, of Xenia, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010. He was born May 1, 1936, in Kinsgport TN, the son of William Arthur Harkleroad and Beatty Ina Kate (Horne) Harkleroad. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Martha Belle (Oakes) Harkleroad . He is survived by two brothers, Joseph (Marilyn) Harkleroad and Charles Harkleroad. He leaves behind two sons; William Harkleroad Jr. and his wife Sonya, and James Harkleroad and his wife Becky. He had five grandchildren: Joshua (Erin) Harkleroad, Tara (Dallas) Mendenhall, Joseph Harkleroad, Emily Harkleroad and Rachel Harkleroad. He also had eight great-grandchildren: Savana, C.J., Bella, Alexa, Hyde, Rylee, Vance, and McKyila. Paul joined the Army at the age of 17 and served from 1953 until 1956. He was retired from Dayton Tire & Rubber. He was a member of the Xenia Masonic Lodge # 49, Valley of Dayton Scottish Rite, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and the VFW. Graveside services will be held at the Veteran's Dayton National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 14, at 1:00 p.m. Services are in care of McColaugh Funeral Home Inc. Xenia, Ohio.
