--CAMDEN – A graveside service celebrating the life of James "Jim" Waldo Champion, 67, of Camden will be held Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010 at 4 p.m. at Malvern Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Camden. Associate Pastor, Kent Kendall, of Florence Baptist Temple will be officiating the service. Memorials may be sent in Mr. Champion's memory to the American Cancer Society, c/o Gail Kirkland, 647 Lachicotte Road, Lugoff, SC 29078.
--Mr. Champion died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010. Born in Camden, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Tallie B. and Mary Hill Champion. He was the owner of National Janitor Supply, co-owner of Champion Realty and a member of SC and Lancaster County Board of Realtors. He was a member of Malvern Hill Baptist Church.
--Surviving are his daughters, Kim C. Eith of Florence, Spring Champion; sons, James "Jay" W. Champion Jr. of Rock Hill, Chance W. Champion of Lancaster; a brother, Ben Champion of Camden; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
--He was predeceased by brothers, Jack, Kenneth and Stanley Champion, all of Camden.
--Jim will be dearly missed by many for his character, kindness and great sense of humor.
