Death: Aug. 16, 1808

Hunt was a Sergeant in Captain Croft's Company of Minutemen at the Battle of Lexington & Concord. He later became a member of the 25th Continental Infantry & transferred to Jackson's Continental Regiment as a Captain. Wounded at the Battle of Stoneypoint, he transferred to the 0th Massachusetts Regiment & was wounded again at the Battle of Yorktown. After the Revolution he remained in the Army, transferring to the 3rd Massachusetts Regiment & returned to Jackson's Continental Regiment. He became a Captain in the 3rd U.S. Infantry & was promoted to the rank of Major. He was reassigned to the 1st U.S. Infantry, promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel & then Colonel.
