Betty Jean Hawkins, 70, St. Clair, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at her home.
Mrs. Hawkins was born Oct. 3, 1935, in St. Clair, the daughter of Oscar Amanuel Sohn and wife Frances J., nee Doyle.

On Sept. 16, 1955, she was united in marriage to Jesse James "Babe" Hawkins.
Mrs. Hawkins was a member of the Christian faith, She was employed in various jobs and for the last 15 years of her working life, she was employed in the custodial department at East Central College, Union.
Mrs. Hawkins was a member of St. Clair American Legion Post 347 Ladies' Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Anthony Ray and Walter Sohn.
Mrs. Hawkins is survived by her husband, Babe Hawkins, St. Clair; one son, Ronnie Hawkins and wife Kathy, St. Clair; two grandsons, Harry and Devin Hawkins, St. Clair; three brothers, Leroy Sohn and wife Glenda, Gary Sohn, all of St. Clair, and Donald Sohn and wife Janet, St. Peters; one sister, Mary Louise Sohn, St. Clair; one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 4, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with the Rev. Lonnie Webb and the Rev. Harvey Dubbs officiating.
Interment was in Anaconda Cemetery, St. Clair.
Memorials to Unity Health Hospice, Washington, are preferred.
