Email from Sue Allen (#46871407) sue63han@yahoo.com asking---

Would you remove her parents, Mathias #10646881 & Maria Catherine #28085728.

US & International marriage records says Maria Catherine was born 1713.
Replacement tombstone [for Maria Catherine] has wrong birth yr. Note it says ABOUT on stone.
Mathias & Maria Catherine were not married until 1733 in MD.

Email from Fr. Don (#63490617) frdon@stny.rr.com stating---

Our family records indicate that Catherine Salome Ambrose was the daughter of Mathias Ambrose (1695-1784) and his first wife, Elizabeth Wilhide, who die either before or during the passage to the new world; Mathias arrived on the ship "Pleasant," at the Port of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 11 October 1732.
Unfortunately, the records do not tell us if he had an infant daughter with him, who would have been Catherine Salome, born 1726 in Germany/Alsace.
He remarried south of present-day Frederick, Maryland, in 1733 to Maria Catherine Spohn, and later they moved to the Thurmont, Maryland, area.
Mathias and Maria Catherine Spohn Ambrose are my 6th great grandparents; their youngest daughter, Maria Barbara, John George Matthews, son of Jacob and Margaret Matthews of the Thurmont area and fellow immigrants to the new world in 1732 on a different ship.
