Violet Pauline (Pee Wee) Whatley Glover, 76, daughter of Lemuel Whatley and Leila Parker Whatley, widow of the late James T. Glover, died Saturday morning on November 24, 2007 in the arms of her family. Survivors include her daughters, Marjorie Daniels of Germantown, Marsha Reese of Memphis, and Teri Hopper of Las Cassas; grandsons, Jerry Cook, Lawrence Joshlin, Jim Daniels, Mike Jenkins, Chauncey Hopper, Brian Hopper and their spouses; her sister, Mrs. Annie Whatley Marshall of Booneville, MS.; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Alma Whatley Stumpf, Marjorie Whatley Gray, Margaret Pitts Glover, Katherine Pitts Glover, Dorothy Pitts Roberts and one brother, Horace Pitts. Pauline was born in Desoto, MO. and was the youngest of 26 children. Whatley Alabama is named for her grandfather F.B. Whatley who served in the Mexican American War and the War Between the States. Her interests revolved around her family. She was well known for her generosity and her great cooking. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy Col Thomas Hardeman, Jr. Chapter 2170, Macon Georgia. She is and will continue to be sorely missed as she can never be replaced. Nephews, Reverends Andrew Lee Marshall, Jr., and Paul Marshall will officate. A visitation will be from 5- 7 p.m. Monday, November 26. Services will be held Tuesday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest HIll Funeral Home Whitten Road Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Midtown.
