Y. K Brown, died yesterday, March 7, 1928 at Porum, Oklahoma. The body was brought to Wagoner and funeral services were held at the Baptist Church this afternoon, conducted by Rev. M. E. Ramay. Mr. Brown was born in Georgia, October 27, 1844. He had lived in Wagoner County for twenty years. He had been married for 60 years, his wife dying in 1920. He left eight children, sons: D. D. Brown, W. M. Brown, and J. Y. Brown; five daughters, Mrs. Margaret Blankenship, Mrs. Sallie Mills, Mrs. Lenora McCaleb, Mrs. Lou Johnson and Mrs. Mattie Dunaway. All the children except one daughter live in Oklahoma. He served with the Thirteenth Alabama Regiment during the Civil War. He had been a member of the Baptist church for 40 years.
