Proud Confederate Soldier
Stephen Henry Bounds was born in Alabama, the oldest son to William M. Bounds of North Carolina origin and Martha F. Teat of Georgia. He married Narcissa Lott, daughter of Arthur Lott, Sr. He served in the Civil War along with his brother, William Richard "Richmond" Bounds and other family relatives in Company H, 39th AL Infantry Regiment, also known as the "Louisville Blues". After the war he moved his family to Rocky Mount, Bossier parish, Louisiana about 1868-70. He is buried in the Rocky Mount Presbyterian Cemetery.

Hospital, Dalton, Georgia October 29, 1862, Chronic Diarrhea, furloughed for 30 days on December 10, 1862, no further records"

Note: In addition to the children listed in the links, there was an oldest daughter named Mary A.F. Bounds who apparently died young. She is only seen in their household the 1860 census. Her name is also listed in a birth list that was included with a letter that was written by George Albert Bounds in 1911. "Mary A.F. Bounds, Feby 5, 1857"
