Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte Mancil Thompson were Sunday, March 11, 2012 in Occupy #1 Baptist Church, Pitkin, Reverends Drew Fontenot and Jeff James officiated. Interment followed in Occupy #1 Cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson, 95, of Plainview Community went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 8, 2012 in her residence with her family by her side.
Charlotte was valedictorian of Pitkin High School's Class of 1935. She was a member of Occupy #1 Baptist Church and she served as a Sunday School teacher and President of WMU. She loved church activities, quilting, reading, music, traveling and preparing meals for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Thompson; her parents, James and Virginia Mancil; one daughter, Vivian T. Brown; two sisters and four brothers.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include two sons; five daughters and sons-in-law; two brothers; twenty-six grandchildren and fifty-two great grandchildren.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Brighton Bridge Hospice.
