Chanda Marie Scarber of Helena passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2010, at the age of 18. Chanda was born in Fairbanks, Alaska, on July 15, 1991, to parents Jonathan and Theresa Scarber.
Chanda is survived by her parents and three siblings, Jonathan Jr., 26, of Helena, Thera, 25, of North Pole, Alaska, and Michael, 16, of Helena. She is also survived by nephews, Paden, Hunter and Billy; grandparents, Earl and Darlene Scarber of Houston and James and Louise Posey of Malvern, Ark.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Chanda attended Helena Middle School and Helena and Capital high schools. She participated as a volunteer with the YMCA at Camp Child.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 2, at the Helena Regional Airport, in the upstairs conference room. The service will begin at 3 p.m. Cremation has taken place under the care of Retz Funeral Home.
