Richard Burgess, married Elizabeth "Betsy" Hall, daughter of Rev. Joshua Hall, Sr. and Sarah Sellers Hall, married October 2, 1810 Burke County, North Carolina.

Richard Burgess enlisted on December 18, 1813 at Shelbyville, Tennessee, War of 1812.

He moved his family to Arkansas and was the earliest settlers of Springtown, Benton County, Arkansas. He was a Commissioner of Benton County, Arkansas.

Richard had a sister Hannah Burgess Thompkins, she lived, died and was buried in Franklin County, Alabama. #19487534.

Richard Burgess is my 4th Great Grandfather. He is a Cherokee "Old Settler" who arrived in NW Arkansas in 1835, prior to the Trail of Tears.
