Birth: May 3, 1853
Death: Oct. 12, 1912

Anna Belle Nott died at her home at 120 Kirkwood Blvd. in 1912 from pernicious anemia, which at the time was incurable. She had been a life long resident of Davenport. She was a cousin to James Blaine, a famous statesman. She had marked musical talent and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was for a time regent to the Hannah Caldwell Chapter. Among her pallbearers was Joe R. Lane, the Director of the Bettendorf Metal Wheel Company and Ralph Cram, Editor of The Daily Times. Maria Purdy Peck represented the D.A.R. as its current regent.
She had married Robert Nott,a well-known traveling hardware salesman, on April 27, 1875. His grandfather was the founder of Union College in New York and his father had been a member of the New York Supreme Court.
Their son, Benjamin Nott, was a retired Arsenal worker who died from heart disease at St. Luke Hospital. He was a member of the Elks.
Their daughter, Miss Elizabeth Nott, died in Maryland at age 76. She was a singer of considerable Note. She had lived and attended schools here, moving to New York in 1923
On a curious note, a recent inspection of the mausoleum, investigating its deteriorating condition, revealed two rocking chairs and a fire place.
{Note: Legend is that the brick mausoleum was built by hand by Anna Belle's husband, Robert Nott. It is said that he used to go daily to the mausoleum and read the paper aloud to her after her death. When it was cold he was supposed to have built a fire in the fireplace.}
