Civil War Service: he enlisted as a private Sep 1 1861 at age 28, and Oct 10 1861 was assigned to Co L of the 2nd Ohio Calvary Reg. On Feb 19 1863 he was transferred out as a corporal. He was a 2nd Lt in the 25th Ohio Independent Light Art. Batt. He was mustered out Dec 12 1865 as a 2nd Lt. at Camp Chase, Ohio.

He and his wife had seven children
