Age 57, of Prestonsburg, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia, following an extended illness. Born on November 22, 1942, in Floyd County, he was the son of the late Bill and Renia Spears Burchett. He was a disabled factory worker. He is survived by his wife, Johnny Carol Spears Burchett. Other survivors include two sons, Billy Burchett of Texas, Charles Newsome of Prestonsburg; four daughters, Tammy Woods and Lisa Jones, both of David, Carol Sue Shepherd of Ashland, Cheryl Burchett of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, John B. Burchett of Endicott, Donnie Borchelt of Columbus, Ohio; five sisters, Thibble O'Neil of Columbus, ,Ohio, Wonder Inez Burchett of Salyersville, Thelma Jean Burchett of Allen, Rosie Jane Burchett of Frankfort, Daisy Helen Burchett of Floyd County; and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 16, at 2 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, with Manford Fannin officiating. Burial will be in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel, under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Newsome, Brandon Endicott, Ted Jones, Michael Woods, Shawn Flannery, Kelly Burchett, and Jimmy Lee Burchett.
