|Death: ||Apr. 5, 1982|
Florence's parents were Albert S. Maxey and Lenna (Smith) Maxey. She had one sister, Bessie Maxey, a school teacher in Illinois who never married. Florence married James M. Simpson in Helena, Montana on December 22, 1917. They lived in Great Falls until 1954. She moved to live with her Daughter (Mary Jane "Janie") and her family in Idaho Falls and later Anchorage, Alaska. She spent her last few years in the extended care facility at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital after she fell and broke a hip on July 4, 1977 during a visit with her son (James L. "Jim"). Her Daughter-in-Law (Herva) was working at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital at the time, so she and Jim were able to provide extra attention during her final years.
Survivors at the time of her death included her son James L. Simpson of Bozeman, a daughter, Mary Jane McKay of Anchorage, Alaska; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Bozeman.
