An article borrowed from the Rhinebeck Gazette, Rhinebeck, New York, dated Saturday, June of 1926-1928 (undecipherable), which list the known Revolutionary War Veterans who were buried in the Red Church Cemetery according to the local D.A.R. of that time.

Dates are not legible so can't be positive this is the right Nicholas but his headstone is located among a Nicholas' children and wife, Edey. Could also belong to,possibly, who is listed as his son, Nicholas' (FAG memorial # 95244527)
