Son of Capt. John Hall and Jemima (Kinney) Hall, Asa had 9 brothers and sisters and three step-siblings. Moved as a child with his family from Plainfield, Connecticut to Windsor, Massachusetts some time after 1757. He married Abigail Converse in Windsor and they had 13 children in Windsor. He served as a private in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. He died of "decline" in his 73rd year.
