OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN)
LAFONTAINE--Arlen L. Barker, 73, Wabash, formerly of Kokomo, died at 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at Rolling Meadows Health Care Center.
He was born on Nov. 28, 1930, in Sandy Hook, Ky., to Robert and Ethel (Wright) Barker. He married Donna Ragoske on July 3, 1964. She survives.
He owned Barker's Auto Repair in Kokomo for 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army for 10 years and was a sergeant 1st class in the 82nd Airborne. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping and family vacations.
Also surviving are a son, Dan (Laurie) Barker, Kokomo; two daughters, Mrs. John (Tamra) Sanchez, Fort Wayne, and Mary Ann Barker, Santa Monica, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Gilbert (Betty) Lewis, Texas; and four grandchildren, Joel Barker and Lee Barker, Kokomo, and Cassandra Barker and Joseph Sanchez, Fort Wayne. Two brothers are deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the McDonald Funeral Home Eddingfield Chapel. The Rev. Mark Day and Pastor Gilbert Lewis will officiate. #Burial will be in Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 Tuesday. Preferred memorials are to UMCOR, in care of Christ United Methodist Church.
