He married Margaret Alma McElrath, August 19, 1927, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died June 14, 1984. He is survived by two sons, Dr. Fred Lewis Crandall, Jr., Santa Maria, Calif., Richard M. Crandall, Ventura, Calif, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Camille Bennion, Provo.
