Margaret was the daughter of William Reuben Pickens and Mary A. Cunningham. Her grandparents were Revolutionary War soldier James Cunningham and Jane McWhorter of NC.
She married William Bone Wassen. He was the son of Samuel Wassen and Artimissia Bone.

Obituary: Thursday, Nov. 30, 1905, in the Moulton Advertiser, "The remains of Sister Margarette Ann Wasson were laid to rest in the Rock Spring Cemetery last Sunday".
