He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Leonidas S. Epps, Jr. and Evelyn Mitchell Epps. Mr. Epps was a graduate of H. M. Turner High School and Clark College. At H. M. Turner, "Sonny" was chosen for the All City Basketball Team. In a game against Florida A&M University, he scored 51 points and later was named SIAC Most Valuable Player. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He was elected to Clark Atlanta University Athletic Hall of Fame. He also did advanced study in Industrial Management at the University of West Georgia. Mr. Epps had an extensive background in sales management and marketing. He was in senior management at Avon Products, Dudley Products as well as Soft Sheen Products and Keystone Laboratories. He was able to touch many lives by bringing people together to achieve common goals. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 11:00 at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 551 Harwell Rd, NW, Atlanta. Instate 10 AM. Interment Westview Cemetery.
