Madge Hooten 91, of Lawrence, passed away on May 2, 2015. She was born on April 14, 1924 in Indianapolis to the late Richard and Ethel Nicholson.Mrs. Hooten graduated in 1942 from Lawrence Central High School, where she was a member of the school's first graduating class. She married Willis Dean Hooten and had two children. She was a lifetime member of Lawrence United Methodist Church. Among her many enthusiasms, her main joy was spending time with her family whom she adored. She is survived by two children; Brian (Debbie) Hooten of Greenfield, Vicki (Chuck) Wright of Lawrence; eight grandchildren, Brooke (Eric) Deem of St. Petersburg, FL, Kiel ( Jamie) Hooten of Traverse City MI, Krystle (Martin) Dudley of Indianapolis, Amber (Marc) Freislinger of Arizona, Matthew (Katy) Wright of Indianapolis, Dustin (Sheila) Wright of Indianapolis, Daniel Wright of Arizona, and Grace Wright of Indianapolis. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and also a host of extended family and friends. Aside from her loving parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Willis Dean Hooten (died in 2001). Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., May 6, 2015 at Lawrence United Methodist Church with visitation held after 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Oaklandon Cemetery. Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services entrusted with arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Lawrence United Methodist Church.
