Anna (Wright) O'Neill was the daughter of Michael Wright and Anne Plunkett of Barconey, Castlerahan, Co. Cavan, Ireland. She immigrated to the United States in 1907 and married Bernard McGinn in Jersey City, New Jersey in 1912. They had one son, Bernard, who was born and died in 1916, and she was widowed by Bernard, Sr. in 1917. Anna met Frank (Francis) O'Neill while she was working as a housekeeper in the St. Andrew Catholic Church rectory in Westwood, New Jersey. They married in 1921 and had a daughter, Rita, in 1922.
