|Death: ||Dec. 30, 1943|
Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium
Pierre was the son of Oldin and Cobe. He and all his family were committed Christians. He joined the Belgium Resistance movement but his father would not allow him to tell him anything about the movement as he did not want his own Gospel work to be compromised.
Pierre was captured by the Nazis and sentenced to death his faith and courage remained firm. He wrote to his parents,"The hour has struck when we must look to the future with courage and in complete submission to the will of God. Tomorrow ... I shall end my earthly pilgrimage to live again in my Saviour ... I am very calm, for I do not look upon death as the end of life, but rather as a change of life. Such a change is not for us a loss, but rather a gain...
A flash, a crash, a pierced heart...
Afraid? - of what?
Afraid to see the Saviour's face,
To hear His welcome, and to trace
The glory gleam from wound of grace?
Afraid - of that?
