|Death: ||1952, Mexico|
Ricardo Garcia was a wild young man who was addicted to drink that ruined his life.He killed his best friend by accidently shooting him. He joined the army but fell in with bad companions who encouraged his drinking habits. Ricardo married a girl hoping it would cure his addiction but he soon fell back to it. He started beating his wife, then found she was with child, that moderated his drinking for a while but he found he was without power to control himself. He spent his money on drink and neglected his family. His little daughter died. His military career suffered and he lost the job he had been doing. He realised that one soldier he thought was his friend had done all he could to encourage his bad habits in order to get his job. While on maneuvers he shot his rival and ran away.
Ricardo could not escape his conscience and he tried to drown his wife and cut his own throat. He could not escape that way either. An evangelist tried to help him in the hospital and left a Bible behind when Ricardo refused his help. He was convicted of his wickedness by reading the Bible and he and his wife sought a Pastors help. This time he was really broken and surrendered to Christ. They were baptized and started to help others. Ricardo went about preaching and distributing Gospel literature for many years, often being persecuted. Finally he made his last journey when he was stopped by opposers and shot dead.
