Matthew Alan Klaasmeyer, 39, the son of Alfred and Candace (Williams) Klaasmeyer was born Sept. 17, 1967, at Kearney. He died May 2, at Socorro, N.M.
The family moved from Kearney to York, where Matt grew up. He attended York Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1985 and furthered his education by attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
He worked as chef for many years. He found employment at various locations including: Denver, Vail, Las Vegas; Baltimore and Albuquerque.
He lived his life on his own terms. He enjoyed sports, rock music and art. He never knew a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Kurt and Ella Klaasmeyer and grandfather, Dayre Williams.
Survivors include his parents, Al and Candace Klaasmeyer, Lincoln, Neb., a sister, Mrs. Brian Quick (Molly) Stromsburg; grandmother, Marilyn Williams, Superior; uncles Ken Klaasmeyer, Omaha, Dayre Williams, Red Cloud and David Williams, Superior, Neb.; aunt, Mrs. Juan Zunga (Andrea), Santa Rose, N.M.
Services were held Tuesday at the Luther Memorial Church in Sycrause, Neb. Pastor Paul Coen officiated.
Burial was in the Hope Lutheran Church Cemetery, Burr, Neb.
Williams Funeral Home of Superior was in charge of the arrangements.
