Pioneer Indian trader, frontiersman, Westport, Missouri banker, fur trapper, and government supply officer of Fort Laramie, Wyoming. Many Kansas Citians believe Ward Parkway in Kansas City, Missouri was named after him, but it was indeed named after his son, Hugh Campbell Ward, who is also buried here in the family plot. Seth swore not to shave until the Confederacy won it's freedom. When he died, he still wore the beard he'd had for over 40 years.
