Mrs. Wilson Passes Away

Had Been Resident of Arkansas City Many Years.

Mrs. Esther F. Wilson, mother of Mrs. Anna Duncan of 423 South First street, passed away Sunday shortly after noon, at the family residence. Her death was not unexpected as she had been in a critical condition for several weeks. A month ago Mrs. Wilson received a fall at the home of her daughter and since that time she had been very feeble. Previous to that time however she had been suffering from stomach trouble. Mrs. Wilson was 76 years of age last May. She was the widow of Alex Wilson, and early day settler of Arkansas City and whose death occurred ten years ago. The family has resided here for the past 35 years. Mrs. Wilson leaves three children and two stepchildren to mourn her death. The children are Robert Wilson of Enid, Okla., Myrtle Mercer, of Missoula, Montana and Mrs. Duncan of this city. The step children are Lizzie Warren of Santa Ana, Calif., and Andy Wilson of Kansas City, Will Wilson, deceased who was well known in Arkansas City and was also a stepson. She also leaves one brother and one sister. They are Alex Maxwell and Mrs. Jane Bell of Sheds, Oregon.

Miss Esther F. Maxwell was born in Harrison county, Ohio. She was united in marriage to Alex Wilson 42 years ago. She was a member of the United Presbyterian church of this city, and a member of the Degree of Honor and the Rebekah lodges.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the residence of Mrs. Duncan conducted by Rev. Wm. Gardner. The U.P choir furnished music for the services. Mrs. Wilson's body was interred in Parker cemetery, east of the city, beside that of her husband.
