Leavenworth, Indiana - Lu Jean Esarey, 87, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, IN. She was born in Croydon, Utah on March 13, 1925 the daughter of William H. and Althea Wilde Branch.
She was a hostess for the Overlook Restaurant in Leavenworth for over 30 years and was a member of Leavenworth Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Esarey and her parents.
She is survived by Son- Michael Esarey ( Debbie) of Corydon, IN, Brother- Bill Branch of Independence, Utah, Sister- Colleen Esarey of Edwardsville, IN, Three Grandchildren-Matt Esarey of Schaumburg, IL, Sarah Esarey of Chicago, IL, Katharine Esarey of Bloomington, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Leavenworth Presbyterian Church. Randy Coleman will officiate. Burial will be at Orchard Knob Cemetery in Alton, IN. Visitation will be held at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon on Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 8 PM and after 9 AM on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Bill Esarey, Joe Esarey, Joe Esarey, Jr., Sam McGill, Brian Kissel, Craig LaHue and Matt Esarey.
